To learn more about Peter, here is a brief Q & A.
Where are you from?
I grew up in Milford, Connecticut. Like the Bay Area, Milford is also a coastal area, situated between New Haven and Bridgeport. I’ve always been drawn to water.
When did you become interested in massage therapy?
My interest in massage therapy started with participation in high school sports such as baseball and wrestling. While I was student-athlete, my teammates and I would sometimes retain soft tissue injuries and massage therapy always helped. After graduation, my interest in fitness and health guided me to become a Certified Personal Trainer with the International Sports Science Association. Following that, I knew I wanted to take my involvement in health and wellness further, so I moved out to San Francisco to be trained at the National Holistic Institute of Massage Therapy.
What are the benefits of massage therapy?
Massage therapy has numerous benefits. Anatomically it provides muscles within the body release from tension and increases circulation. From personal experience, massage provides a sense of cleansing. A great massage session allows the client to escape stress while also doing something very beneficial for their body.
What do you like to do in your free time?
In my free time, I enjoy a variety of activities. I enjoy testing my body’s limit and getting out in the sun. Going to the gym, a run, pick up basketball or getting away from it all on a nice hike are a few of the hobbies I have. My passion is in music so I also enjoy going to shows and practice DJ’ing on the laptop as often as I can.
If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
With my roots lying on the East Coast, I’m a sucker for Italian food of any kind. My favorite is lasagna!
