Dr. Adam Jacobs found chiropractic after a wakeboarding accident badly injured his lower back. When nothing else could help his pain, chiropractic was there. It was this experience which changed his focus from traditional western medicine towards alternative, hands-on medicine.

Dr. Jacobs attended UC Santa Cruz and received his undergraduate degree in Biology while also playing college basketball.  He then attended Palmer West College of Chiropractic, in San Jose, CA specializing in sports chiropractic.

Upon graduation, Dr. Jacobs spent a winter in Park City UT, completing an internship at a chiropractic clinic that treated Winter Olympic athletes. Before moving to San Francisco he worked in two different clinics in the South Bay, serving athletes and business professionals. He was also part of the onsite chiropractic team for the San Jose Ballet.

In 2008 he started working in San Francisco as the lead associate doctor in which he helped build a successful practice and trained four different associate doctors.

In 2011, he founded SF Custom Chiropractic, which has now expanded to 3 locations in San Francisco and has had numerous corporate onsite contracts. 

In 2012, 2013, 2014,  he was named Top 5 Chiropractors in the Bay Area by ABC 7 A-list. ABC 7 A-list, 7×7 magazine and SF Weekly bestowed the “Best Chiropractor”  title upon him in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019, 2021, 2022.

Dr. Jacobs is a sports chiropractor, Titleist Performance Institute(TPI) certified medical practitioner, Functional Movement Systems (F.M.S.) practitioner, and is full body certified in Active Release Technique (ART). He specializes in the treatment of the lumbar spine, sports injuries, and extremity conditions.

Dr. Jacobs has been part of the chiropractic team for Outside Lands Music Festival, AVP SF, the US Open Golf Championship at the Olympic Club and twice at Pebble Beach.  He has treated professional athletes in every major sport from the MLB, NFL, NBA, and PGA. 

Coaching and mentoring others has been his passion for years helping the next generation of chiropractors and working toward improving the chiropractic field.  

Dr. Jacobs no longer takes new patients and is only treating existing patients one week a month at SF Custom Chiropractic.  He now lives in Spokane Washington where he is heavily involved with his family, coaching his kids sports teams, skiing, golfing, hiking, and fishing.
